The Nickel Family
Yesterday was a beautiful fall day for pictures. There's something about the autumn light that is very different than summer - it has much more depth and interesting qualities. If you can bundle up and brave the cooler temperatures, the results can be amazing. This beautiful family was a joy to photograph. I love their playful attitudes and love for eachother. That comes out in their photos.

Model Mommy
My sister (who is expecting at the end of February) came to visit last week! We were so busy having fun that we forgot to do an "official" photo shoot! We ended up taking a few impromptu photos the day she was leaving. I am planning to give her a full out maternity shoot when we go visit at Christmas. Her belly will be much bigger then. ;)

Perry & Christine
I have been blessed with a wonderful mom-in-law and dad-in-law (and I'm not just saying that because they read this blog...because they don't even know it exists!). They are two of the most caring, thoughtful and down-to-earth people you will ever meet and they have enhanced my life more than I let them know. I was so happy when they agreed to a photo shoot on Sunday evening. The atmosphere was fun and Perry had so many great ideas for shots once he got going! (That was his idea to lay on the tracks)
Kim, a.k.a. The Apprentice
Today I took my sil out to let her practice her photography on me. It was so much fun! She did an awesome job for a first-timer! Can't wait to see how she does working alongside me at weddings and such! Note: My favorite one is the third one down - I cropped it and I absolutely love it! Great job, Kim!

Beautiful Duo
Today I photographed Laura and her almost-one-year-old daughter, McKenna. What a couple of beauties! As I was editing their photos, I kept imagining the two of them modeling for some bigtime fashion name with ads in Elle and Cookie. Laura's little girl is exactly one month younger than my son. I found out today that we both actually nicknamed our babies "teradactyl" because of their dinosaur-ish cries. There was nothing gentle about Sam's cry, nor McKenna's, apparently. But you'd never know it to see her.
